It's a personal thing, we're all at different points with our physiques and what's achievable but my guess is, that reading this, you're looking to lose some weight from around the middle and tone up?
Well... me too.
We don't have that long actually.
If this is ringing true with you then it's time to get focused, and here is my top 3 tips on how to do it.
1. Set aside time for training.
A minimum of 3 times a week for an hour is great or 5 lots of 30 minutes can work for some people.
Too busy? Fine, 10 minutes a day? You've got that right? If not, then your focus isn't on what you want - losing weight around the middle and toning up. You can find a 10 minute workout online, no problem.
2. Plan your meals.
This is so simple, and so effective I can't believe more people don't do it. When you have a plan you're more likely to stick to eat. Most of us know how to eat well, and know what we shouldn't be eating but it's so easy to come home after a tough day of work and grab something sweet or call for a takeaway.
People with focus on a goal understand how each meal will help them move towards that goal.
3. Track your progress (intelligently).
Instead of jumping on the scales every morning and tracking your weight which can vary by a few pounds every time just down to water and other factors, try taking progress pictures.
Measure yourself once a week with a tape measure around the narrowest part of your torso (waist), belly button (abdomen) and widest part of your hips. This will give you a much better idea of if things are working or not.
For what we all want (lose weight around the middle and tone up) the scales will bamboozle you, but the tape won't lie!
Finally - ask for help. Get someone in on whatever you're trying to achieve. If you're focused and people can see you're serious about something then they will want to help you out.
